Daniel Kahn first fell in love with Miami Beach at age 16, when he would visit from New York spending his time at the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel to assist in managing the wait staff during the Passover holiday. It was then that he saw not only the pristine white sands of South Beach, but also the strength of the South Florida tourism and hospitality industry.
Eight years later Daniel Kahn’s dream to move to Miami Beach became a reality and he immediately immersed himself in the Miami Beach hospitality industry. From his start as a manager at Touch on Lincoln Road, to his years as Director of Food and Beverage Marketing for Morgans Hotel Group which included Delano, Shore Club, and Mondrian Hotels, Kahn knows the ins and outs of the industry better than anyone in the city.
With 11 years living on Miami Beach, Daniel Kahn also knows that the heartbeat of the city rests within its residents. During his tenure on Miami Beach he has lived in multiple neighborhoods including South of Fifth, The Flamingo, North Beach, Nautilus and Mid-Beach, and he appreciates the individuality of each neighborhood and all that they have to offer. Daniel Kahn’s passion for the city as a whole and his knowledge of the intricacies of its arteries is unmatched.
A strong business mind, Daniel Kahn runs a successful marketing, branding and promotional products company where he consults for small businesses, Fortune 500 companies and professional sports teams. Prior to his move South, he sharpened his finance skills in New York with Goldman Sachs. His leadership qualities extend back to his days as an honor roll student at Yeshiva University in New York studying sociology, biology, economics and Judaic studies, and was nominated for the International Mission on Diplomacy. An avid sports fan, Kahn was also a member of the fencing team. Well-rounded and knowledgeable on all the key areas that affect our city, Kahn is a true local with knowledge on how to improve the business that is Miami Beach.
Over the recent years he’s witnessed the growth of the hotel, hospitality and tourism industries first hand, having played a role in its success, watching as Miami Beach became a global tourist destination. He saw people extend their vacation into full-time residency, and he’s been a driving force on the scene as the city grew into a technology savvy, environmental leading, world-class city that still has the best sunrise on the planet. From his extensive experience, Daniel Kahn realizes that in order for the city to take a step forward there are three components – residents, workforce and tourists – that require a healthy harmony and constant care in order to change Miami Beach for the better.
